I am so grateful that Alberta offers Midwives for free (after spending $10,000 to get pregnant Ill take that)! I applied yesterday for a midwife at 4 different centers. Midwives are paid for in Alberta, but you need to apply privately (I find the process kind of odd). Apparently there are not enough midwives, nor enough funding for the demand; so it is imperative to "get on it", and schedule a midwife right away.
We may end up being on a wait-list, but if I apply for and get on a wait-list with 3 or 4 of the centers then we will have a good chance of having a midwife team available.
Dennis would prefer to have a hospital birth, especially with the first birth; I think I would prefer a home birth.
I hope and pray that Im able to carry this baby to term.
