October 28, IVF step 1...

As of Oct 26, I started the first (and easiest) step of IVF medication treatment. For the next 2.5 weeks I will be taking low dose aspirin, and Superfact. Suprefact is synthetic LHRH analogue (whatever that means) and the purpose of it is to put my ovaries to 'rest'. It stops me from ovulating on my own by suppressing hormone production in my pituitary gland. Suprefact is a nasal spray that I spray once in each nostril, every three hours, five times a day. Ive been using the nasal spray at 8am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm, and 8pm. That schedule seems to be working well for me. I haven't noticed any side affects, but Ill keep you posted :)

I'm on Suprefact until my baseline blood-work and ultrasound on November 10th, that's when things will really start happening. If my estrogen levels and ovaries look good, I start injects of Gonal-F and Luveris to stimulate the production of follicles.

I was surprised and disappointed, the nurse I spoke to regarding start-up info was unfriendly and short with me (on 2 occasions). I would have appreciated more compassion and information.  I received a timetable in the mail, it appears quite intimidating. Im sure as I go along with this Ill be able to break it down a bit, and it will make sense.

Anyway, not much to report for the time being, but Ill continue to update you all.
