December 12th, HCG Update

This morning I went to the lab again, for Beta HCG blood work.
I just got my test results back, and my HCG number has nearly tripled! From 591 December 10, to 1404! They like to see the Beta increase and approximately double within 48 hours, so this is a good sign! I was nervous for the results today, I was hoping for a double but with it all being out of my control I couldnt do anything about it! I am so excited!
Yay body, and baby! Good work!

Worst Doctor Award: goes to the walk in Doc I saw today! I had an appointment with my GP today at 4pm, however he was sick today. I called the walk-in clinic at 3:30pm on my way home to confirm that they had the results; I told them I would be in shortly to see the walk in doctor to get my results. I walked in and noticed a sign on the desk "No More Walk-Ins Today" but since the door was open I called out for someone. "hello...?". A grumpy looking man appeared and asked what I wanted and why the door wasnt locked. I informed him about my recent call and the reason for my visit. He grumbled and indicated he wasnt able to help me and seemed confused and frustrated. A nurse appeared from down the hall, appearing much more pleasant and welcoming. She told me that she would arrange for a doctor to interpret and communicate my results; she brought me to a waiting room. The grumpy doctor ended up coming, and told me "this is going to cost a lot", confused, I said- pardon me? He then carried on complaining to me, and told me that he is going to quit and that he's tired of covering for everyone! I validated his feelings, and paraphrased that it must be frustrating for him (my job wasnt quite done for the day, I guess). He informed me that Dr Subramanian was sick today, so he was covering for him, as well as for a walk in doctor who was unavailable. Umm, how is that my issue?! He did not interpret my results, but simply passed me the print outs from Netcare, as you can see below. Holy F, I feel like he needs to go on stress-leave; how about be nice to the pregnant lady and share in the joyous news?! Take this, Grumpy Doc!  (click the blue hyperlink). Regardless, I was happy to receive the results, especially since theyre amazing!
