Symptoms: This week, I feel great. No health issues or concerns at all. I am so grateful that I have been so well. I have gained about 3-5 pounds during this first trimester, which is normal. I have increased a bra size during this trimester. I now have to get up every night through the night to go to the bathroom. Sometimes I have a little bit of night sweats. I am have increased, insatiable hunger; and am more tired in the evenings. When I get home from work I often change into PJs, Daddy Dennis & I eat dinner together just after 6pm, hang out for a bit and I go to bed around 8pm haha. Its been relaxing and lovely actually.
Cravings: None, I am just so hungry, all day! I find that I need to eat every 2 hours, proactively to avoid hunger pains. I am loving cold items, like ice water and freezies. I crave McDonalds, and I resist, but it's not a pregnancy craving. I love fast food.
As a sidenote, I have weaned myself off coffee and I'm now drinking black tea. I wasn't really enjoying coffee much, maybe an aversion in for me in pregnancy. The tea transition has been smooth.
Appointments & courses: This evening, Daddy & I had an "Early Pregnancy" course through AHS, which we are skipping. Dennis doesn't feel that it will be helpful and Id rather stay home and go to bed early :) Dennis wants to know more about babies, and not so much about pregnancy (he doesn't have to deal with the pregnancy directly, and I have been so well so I think it's ok).
I cant wait for next week to arrive! We have our 12 week ultrasound on Tuesday morning, and our first official meeting with the midwives, next Thursday afternoon!
Excited about/Looking forward to: I purchased a home doppler last weekend, I have figured out where to find and check for the babies heart beat, and it's the most beautiful, and reassuring sound. I am so excited about hearing the babies heart beat on our home doppler, and the comfort of being able to check daily from the convenience of my couch :) (see short video clip below).
I am also excited that I have been able to purchase many baby items this week, including a Mini GT Stroller, Momaroo, Bookshelf for the nursery, Angle baby monitor, baby bath, play pen, bottle sanitizer, sea soother for the crib, diaper pail, lifetime (white) sheets, sleep sound machine, diaper bags etc. We aren't going to require anything at our baby shower :)-
Thanks for following along.
